In 1944 he came back to the UK but ended up in Normandy within three weeks of the invasion

After the Battle of Britain he became an instructor and then joined 54 Squadron being sent to Australia to help defend against the Japanese invasion

Having spent some short time taking a quick preliminary recce in the car we chanced upon a little car park and amazingly enough there was a parking space. As soon as we got out of the car I spotted this beautiful scene and was determined it should be caught on canvas. Unfortunately I didn't have a sketch pad
