在1830年代，肯塔基州路易維爾（Louisville）小鎮的奧古斯都佈雷特（Augustus Bulleit）經營著一家驛馬車客棧。他對波本Whisky充滿熱情，希望能為喜愛這種Whisky的消費者提供口味絕佳且獨特的產品。

這款威士忌由秩父酒廠的創始人肥土伊知郎調配而成。他主要使用了日本的麥芽和穀物，並尋找來自全球的優質威士忌，以完美地調合他的「羽生單一麥芽威士忌」和「秩父單一麥芽威士忌」。

18世紀末開始，隨住煤礦同農場嘅發展，對低地蒸餾廠嘅需求越來越大。而距離首都愛丁堡最近嘅格蘭昆奇 (Glenkinchie) 蒸餾廠，就係全蘇格蘭最大嘅蒸餾廠之一，亦係低地區而家唯一嘅三間蒸餾廠之一，而且係規模最大嘅。

這款威士忌專為與雪茄搭配而設計，它能消除抽雪茄時可能帶來的乾澀口感，同時為品茄過程增添驚喜。
