A View of Elko, 1981 Figurative Art a traveling show that startedMy father and his wife lived in Elko, Nevada and my husband and I visited in 1981. They lived on Oak Street and their neighborhood overlooked the western edge of the business district and the railroad tracks with sidelined tank and freight cars. Elko is a mining town so the far hills have been cut into, and the plume of smoke relates to blasting and milling activities. Carolyn Lord Painted July 31, 1981, 2nd painting of the day, done in the afternoon.
