Black and White Bay Island Palm Maui This image was taken onThe majesty of this Canary Palm growing on Bay Island in Newport Beach caught my eye. After I photgraphed it I sadly learned that shortly afterwards the tree was cut down. The first home on Bay Island was built in 1907, so it is quite possible this palm was 100+ years old.
